… from a small village in Portugal, we come from a long line of bakers and cooks, where everyone was welcome and everyone was fed. Very well. Food was a celebration, and no celebration was complete without a feast. From a simple meal of freshly baked bread and cheese to a ten course offering, the result was always the same; sharing the warmth and comfort of family and friends, and all the better if the setting was outside, under the big blue sky, with brilliant sun and ocean breeze.
Traditions being what they are, lend a strong foundation for growth and exploration, and while the techniques and ingredients may be new, the intention has not changed. Food is a gift to be shared. Kindness does not need permission.
Today, inspired by a strong sense of family, the tradition continues, with a new generation learning the value of gratitude and kindness. At their mother’s side, two sons learn the art of cooking, baking and most importantly, the value of family. With over two decades of baking, proud mother of two adventurous and talented boys, Elisabete has added self taught baker to her accomplishments as an artist and designer. She believes in a holistic approach to baking, using wholesome ingredients. Tried and true conventional recipes, along with wheat free, gluten free, dairy free, vegan and organic creations have all become a part of the new traditions, because everyone deserves the pleasure of good food, regardless of dietary restrictions.
